'Ash vs. Evil Dead' season 2 release date, spoilers news: 'Sons of Anarchy' actor Joel Tobeck joins cast as new villain, Bruce Campbell hints 'horrors' awaiting Pablo

Ash will have an unlikely alliance with the previous season's villain Ruby to face a bigger threat when "Ash vs. Evil Dead" season 2 premieres this Fall. The new Big Bad named Baal is out for blood and he may be the most powerful creature Ash has ever faced.

"Sons of Anarchy" actor Joel Tobeck has been recently cast as the upcoming season's villain and his arrival means more trouble coming for Elk Grove. "When Baal is released from the underworld, our team will face an enemy more powerful than any that have come before. One with bigger plans than just destroying Ash as well as a secret link to Ruby," the character description reads.

According to lead actor Bruce Campbell, his character will encounter a lot of problems this season but Ash's protégé Pablo will deal with a lot worse. "Pablo's got a crazy journey this year," he laughs. "The stuff he goes through makes my life seem easy. I think we're going to find out that he's not just Ash's sidekick. I don't think Ray had any idea what was coming. Some of the horrors that await Pablo..."

Season 2 starts with Ash enjoying a carefree life in Jacksonville. He's ready to start anew but something goes wrong â€” forcing him to pack his bags and travel to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan with Pablo and Kelly. Newcomers for this season include veteran TV actor Lee majors as Ash's grumpy father and "Evil Dead" franchise star Ted Raimi as Ash's childhood friend.

Starz has yet to announce a renewal but based on the huge cult following season 1 earned, the network may greenlight another season soon. In an interview with Den of Geek, Campbell revealed his hopes for a back-to-back renewal. "We want seasons 3 and 4 from Starz," he said. "I think they're starting to see that it's catching on. And everyone needs programming, and I think it would be a great nod to the fans."
