The film adaptation of Ubisoft's action-adventure game franchise "Assassin's Creed" will be premiering in a few days. As a final move to promote and build anticipation for the upcoming film, 20th Century Fox released a final trailer and a one-minute clip featuring the iconic "Leap of Faith" jump.

"The history of the world is the history of violence," the film's final trailer opens. "Mankind seems intent on destroying itself," it went on to say.

The new trailer focuses on the film's backstory, which has remained faithful to the storyline of the game franchise. It outlines the motives of the Templars, with a suspicious character played Jeremy Irons explaining the need to track down an artifact called the "Apple of Eden." The key to finding it lies in Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender), a convicted criminal sentenced to death and whose ancestor is somehow connected to the missing artifact.

Callum gets plugged into the Animus, a machine that connects him to and allows him to re-live the memories of his ancestor, Aguilar, who had been dead for 500 years. In seemingly taking over Aguilar's body in the past, Callum gets transported to the time of the Spanish Inquisition.

Aside from the amazing visuals and the highlight on the movie's backstory, the new trailer also boasts a stellar cast. Aside from Fassbender and Irons, included in the cast are respected actors Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, and Charlotte Rampling.

As for the "Leap of Faith" Clip, Michael Fassbender's 15th century Spain character Aguilar is seen running from his enemies during an exciting rooftop chase. He manages to fully escape by jumping off at the top of a building. In the present day, Callum is seen trying to get used to being plugged into the Animus.

In an Xbox live stream interview on Dec. 12, Fassbender admitted that although he performed about 95 percent of his own stunts, the "Leap of Faith" scene was done by his stuntman Damien Walters. Walters had to jump from a height of 120 feet and fell into a crash pad without the aid or ropes or harnesses.

"Assassin's Creed," directed by Justin Kurzel, opens in theaters on Dec. 21.
