A new game in the "Assassin's Creed" series is going to be released this year just in time for the holidays.

The game would be called "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" instead of "Assassin's Creed: Victory" as earlier reported. An official announcement on the game will be made during a stream event set for Tuesday, May 12, at 12 p.m. ET.

News of the official launch has been circulating for weeks now. Last year, a gameplay video of the game was leaked along with screenshots. They indicated that the game is set in Victorian-era England. That leak also showed the protagonist fighting aboard trains and carriages and using a grappling hook to quickly move from one vehicle to another.

Following the leak, Ubisoft decided to change the name of the game to "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate." This was revealed when promotional materials were leaked to Polygon.

However, the materials indicated that the venue remains the same. The description in the promotional materials said the game would take players to London during the Industrial Revolution and that players would get a truly immersive experience.

As for the assassin in the game, the promo materials said the guy goes by the name of Jacob Frye.

The announcement said those who pre-order the game via GameStop will get a shilling necklace, which it said is a copy of the one worn by the protagonist.

Ubisoft also released an animation-based teaser for the upcoming game earlier in the week. It featured the phrase "oppression has to end." Brass knuckles were featured on the game's U.S. website, where the Charles Dickens' phrase "We Forge The Chains We Wear In Life" was written.

"Assassin's Creed: Syndicate "is currently under development in Ubisoft's Quebec location. It is expected to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
