"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" was officially unveiled on Tuesday, with Ubisoft providing the first details about the two new assassins in the game, brother and sister Jacob and Evie Frye. Along with news about the game, the developer set the release date on October 23.

According to Ubisoft, Jacob and Evie would have unique fighting styles. Evie favors stealth while Jacob tends to use brute force. Together, the assassins will take on the oppressive section of the ruling class and also the remnants of the Templar order.

In the game, players will be able to step into the shoes of both characters and switch between them. However, this ability is curtailed in story-based missions.

Ubisoft brought out a trailer, including footage taken from the pre-alpha stage of the game. It revealed that Jacob will have a number of weapons such as kukri, brass knuckles and revolver in addition to the iconic gauntlet usually worn by assassins. This time around the gauntlet will also contain a rope launcher and darts in addition to the concealed blade.

Coming to the stealth portion of the game, this has been massively overhauled and players will be able to reposition objects in the game's environment to hide.

As for the game's setting, it has been rumored for months that "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" is set in Victorian-era England as it goes through the industrial revolution. Ubisoft announced that the game will explore the poverty and oppression of the lower class and how it contrasted with the luxury and comfort of the upper class. It also revealed that Jacob and Evie will come from a poor family and then join the syndicate.

Charles Dickens and Darwin will also feature in the game. Those who pre-order the game will get the "The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy" mission as a bonus. The console edition of the game will land on Oct. 23 while the PC version is due for release sometime during this year's holiday season.
