A new ASUS smartphone with the model number X00GD has recently been spotted on TENAA, China's regulatory agency. While this particular device has yet to be announced by the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, it is expected to be one of the new Zenfone handsets that will be introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) later this week. Rumors even suggest that it could be part of the upcoming Zenfone 4 family.

According to TENAA, the X00GD features a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. In terms of dimensions, it is 149.5 x 73.7 x 8.85 mm and weighs 169 grams. The device is powered by an octa-core 1.5 GHz processor. There's no information yet on which company will provide the system-on-chip (SoC).

Memory-wise, the new ASUS smartphone will have several variants. The listing mentioned three different versions for random access memory: 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB. Likewise, built-in memory will have 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB options. The X00GD has support for a microSD card so the device will be capable of expanded memory.

Perhaps, the most promising feature of the ASUS X00GD is its promising battery life. The device will be equipped with a massive 4,850 mAh battery which means that it will be able to last for several days with minimal usage. On the other hand, consumers who use smartphones for gaming and other battery-intensive tasks won't have to worry about easily running out of power.

Other specs revealed include a 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls and a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button. The upcoming device will also run the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. The X00GB will be available in four colors: Luxury Gold, Rose Gold and Black.

No word yet on pricing and availability but it is highly likely that the device will be introduced during Zennovation, ASUS' press conference at CES on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 11:30 a.m. PST/ 2:30 p.m. EST. The event can be streamed live here.
