'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date delay update: Pushed back for multiple reasons; video game version launched

For "Attack on Titan" fans, it seems that the unbearable wait has to extend a little longer as it is revealed that the release date for season 2 will be extended — possibly until 2017.

According to recent news, it seems that the production of the anime has been pushed back due to the director, Tetsuro Araki, working on another project at the moment.

Reports say that Araki is currently completing "Kabaneri of the Fortress," which has all but ended the hopes of "Attack on Titan" to make its return in 2016.

As reported, it may be a possibility that season 2 of the show would be released around January 2017.

Another factor reportedly slowing down "Attack on Titan" season 2 is that there are four total story arcs needed to completely translate the story to the show, but at the moment there are only two arcs available that make a completely raw story.

While the first version strictly followed the original manga version, the second season may be a little different to give the viewers a little more suspense and anticipation as they watch the rest of the show.

Meanwhile, the video game version of the show was revealed at the MCM Comic Con in London on Friday, May 27.

The video found below shows the game with English localization that should be available to the public in the middle of the year – targeted around Aug. 6.

As of this writing, the title of the game is said to be "Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom."

Expect more news on the coming days on how this will develop but expect the fan interest to continue to rise despite the delay of "Attack on Titan" season 2.
