'Attack on Titan' season 2 spoilers: Beast Titan, Colossal Titan and more strike in new trailer
After three years of waiting, fans are finally treated with their first look at "Attack on Titan" season 2, which will premiere next year.
The new season teases the dawn of the "new darkest day in humanity's history" as the Wall Rose is breached with a horde of hungry Titans. Everyone is at the top of their game, willing to give their all to defeat the oppressors.
The trailer for "Attack on Titan" season 2 also showed a bunch of Titans including the Colossal Titan, which appeared to be computer-generated (CG).
The trailer also showed the Beast Titan, the beastly form of none other than Zeke. He was seen battling it out with one of the soldiers from the Survey Corps.
There were also Titans fighting other Titans in the "Attack on Titan" season 2 trailer, leading to the realization that not all Titans are there to destroy. Some are there to help and protect.
Looking at the scenes in the "Attack on Titan" season 2, it is safe to say that the anime continues to follow the manga by Hajime Isayama as it did in the first season, which fans loved.
This suggests that those who have been following the manga will likely know where all this is headed, but it should still be a treat to see the pages come to life in the small screen.
It is unclear as to how many episodes "Attack on Titan" season 2 will have. The first one had 25 episodes, covering the first four story arcs of the manga.
If the new season will have the same pace and number of episodes, only the next two story arcs might be covered. However, seeing that the delay was for the source material to bulk up, the anime might cover more than just the next two arcs.
"Attack on Titan" season 2 will premiere April 2017.
