'Avengers: Infinity War' premiere date, news, spoilers: Three different worlds featured in title; Thanos' ultimate plan revealed
"Infinity War" has a long list of superheroes joining in the war against Thanos (Josh Brolin), and they will be moving across three different but interconnected Marvel worlds in the film. Meanwhile, Thanos' master plan has been revealed.
"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to premiere in 2018, and it is said to bring together almost every Marvel superhero that has already been introduced in the cinematic universe. Aside from the original Avengers — Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) — their recent recruits and the heroes in "Guardians of the Galaxy" will team up to face the film's big bad, Thanos.
However, according to the film's IMDb page, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) is set to appear in "Infinity War." Captain Marvel has not been introduced in any Marvel movie yet, but viewers will get a glimpse of who she is when "Infinity War" rolls out. She is set to have her solo film in 2019.
Since Thanos is the villain, and his plan involves the Infinity Stones, it can be anticipated that the setting of the film will be in outer space. However, according to the film's casting call, which was posted on Backstage, there might be a few more places visited by "Infinity War."
Confirmed by Uproxx, the casting call includes aliens who "must be comfortable being painted" all over, male Vikings who have long hair and beards, and female warriors with African-American ethnicity.
These casting calls hint that "Avengers: Infinity War" will be visiting Asgard and Wakanda as well, suggested by the female warriors and the male Vikings with long hair.
Meanwhile, Thanos' master plan for the universe was revealed screenwriter Stephen McFeely during the Blu-ray special of "Doctor Strange."
"His goal is to re-balance the universe as he sees it. So when he figures out that the Infinity Stones could do this for him at the snap of a finger, that becomes his main goal," McFeely explained.
It is suspected that Thanos' master plan is mass destruction, but he can also use the Infinity Stones for an entirely different purpose.
"Avengers: Infinity War" is expected to premiere on May 4, 2018.
