Though Marvel has three more projects before it releases "The Avengers: Infinity War," the movie is currently in the works, and Jeremy Renner commented on his character Hawkeye and how he'll fit in in the third "Avengers" movie.

In a recent interview with Hey U Guys, Renner talked about "Infinity War" and what fans can expect from it. He said, "There's some really great ideas, and [the Russo Brothers] are following certain parts of 'Infinity War.' It's some real exciting stuff for lots of characters, especially for what they're thinking of doing with Hawkeye."

In the "Infinity Gauntlet" comics, Thanos used the Gauntlet in order to eliminate half of the universe as a way to impress his muse, Mistress Death, who is the literal personification of death. Classic comic fans see Thanos as one of the more powerful beings in the lore, even beating Odin himself and a group of Celestials (including planet-eater Galactus), so his appearance in the movies is expected to turn things upside down for Earth's mightiest heroes.

Renner also went on to say that he has heard about the script and he added that it's "fantastic." The movie will be helmed by the Russo Brothers who were in charge of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War" — the latter being considered as "Avengers 2.5" by some fans since it included almost all of the Avengers that currently exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Infinity War" will be the first "Avengers" movie not to be helmed by director Joss Whedon.

With Hawkeye aka Clint Barton being the butt of jokes for fans of the MCU, Renner has even said that he is open to taking the character to the Netflix Marvel Universe and having his own series. In a world where men can control thunder and scientists can turn into giant rage monsters, a man who is adept with a bow and arrow may seem  underwhelming to some.

"Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
