Doctor Stephen Strange, also known as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, will be launched in his own solo movie this November. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to expand with the introduction of new heroes, there will be more possible participants in the much awaited next installment of the "Avengers" film series, which is going to tackle the infamous "Infinity War" storyline in the comics. For now, it appears that Doctor Strange will play an important part in the next "Avengers" movie, particularly in uniting all of them after the crucial events in "Captain America: Civil War."

Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, revealed in an interview with Yahoo! Movies that the Sorcerer Supreme will have an important role to help the Avengers in their present situation. Specifically, Doctor Strange is likely to reunite the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, most especially Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).

To recall, the Sokovia Accords that aims to submit the Avengers under the jurisdiction of the world's governments has divided the Avengers into two factions, the other supporting the accords and the other voting against it. Moreover, the tension intensified when it was revealed that Tony Stark's parents were killed by Captain America's closest buddy, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). It appears that the Avengers has remained divided after "Civil War," but in "Avengers: Infinity War," the group will need to unite once again as they face a much bigger threat in the form of the Mad Titan, Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Cumberbatch added that Doctor Strange is not likely to choose between Team Cap and Team Iron Man, citing that the character would rather mind a real global threat, which is the arrival of Thanos and his quest to retrieve all the Infinity Stones to gain unimaginable powers.

Meanwhile, Yibada reported that Thanos will indeed give the Avengers a hard time in "Avengers: Infinity War." The popular "Infinity Gauntlet" plotline in the comic book version will involve all the known heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Doctor Strange and the outer space-based Guardians of the Galaxy.
