Azealia Banks Slams 'Fat White Americans' and 'Non-Threatening' Black Artists in Playboy Interview
Singer and songwriter Azealia Banks recently took social media by storm when she blurted out in an interview with Playboy that she hated everything about the United States.
The artist was unapologetic about her views as she criticized other black rap artists for being non-threatening, and demanded reparations for black people.
She also said that atheists would never be able to understand God.
"I hate everything about this country," said Azealia, who grew up in the neighborhood of Harlem in New York.
She focused her diatribe on middle America which according to her is filled with "fat white Americans."
"All the people who are crunched into the real fat and meat of America are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms," she said.
The interview of the rap artist, which is featured in the April edition of Playboy, drew criticism on various social media sites.
Commenting on her remarks, the editor of the magazine Jimmy Jellinek pointed out that Playboy did not "endorse her views, but we defend her right to say them." But Fox News commented that Jellinek seemed enthusiastic about Banks' highly controversial statements.
Interestingly, Banks also blasted black artists like Will Pharrell and Kendrick Lamar and described how they always said "non-threatening black man s**t" just so that they could be accepted by white people. However, she expressed admiration for Jay Z, saying he was not like the others.
In the interview, the rap artist seemed to have an opinion about everything, and no topic was out of bounds including atheism. She even urged atheists to stop looking for God as they would not be able to comprehend all the information. To help atheists understand, she compared God to software and stated that "the amount of information embedded in God's face would fit only on a Google-size data center. Your head cannot handle that much information and would explode," she said.
