'Batman Arkham' release date, news & update: Bruce Wayne's son to be focus of new game?

It looks like the "Batman: Arkham" franchise is yet to see its end. Warner Bros. Montreal, the developer behind "Arkham Origins," is reportedly working on a new one.

According to Jason Schreier of Kotaku, the title will focus on Bruce Wayne's son, Damian Wayne. Warner Bros. were reportedly going to do a title based on "Suicide Squad," but decided against it to pursue the said "Batman" game.

This "Suicide Squad" game was already in the works for almost two years, and the executives were not taken by what the developer came up with during that time.

The cancellation of the said game, which was believed to come out along with the "Suicide Squad" movie from August, was reportedly a result of the management shake-ups that took place in Warner Bros.

As for the purported game focused on Damian, there is not much to tell, but it was supposed to be showcased early this month, which did not happen.

However, Schreier believes that this is due to the shake-ups that took place so if there will be a "Batman Arkham" game, it might be a while before it sees a light of day, let alone made official by the company.

Schreier believes that this purported game "may not be out for a while" and with the sudden cancellation of the game it replaced, it looks like it is still in early stages anyway.

There is no word if this Damian-centered "Batman" game will be part of the "Arkham" franchise although Cinema Blend believes this will be the case.

However, the site is not sure if fans will be happy about it since the character in focus is not that popular and that the expectation was that Red Hood will get the spotlight seeing how "Batman: Arkham Knight" turned out.

Games Radar, on the other hand, says that while Damian is more connected to Robin rather than Batman, there was a time in the comics he took the mantle of the Dark Knight.

Either way, since the "Batman: Arkham" is still far away, there is still time to build up the central character.
