'Batman: Return to Arkham' release date, news and updates: Reviews released for remastered version of the game
Rocksteady has just released "Batman: Return to Arkham" which is a remaster of games from the classic "Arkham" series. The entire pack includes the first two games, "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" but not "Arkham Origins" since the latter was developed by a different company. The reviews have just come in online and they put the remaster out to be a bit mediocre.
Video Gamer ranks "Return to Arkham" as a 7/10. They say that though the graphics have been improved for the game, there's not much improvement to the series. New textures for the game are said to be "excellent," but the new lighting puts "Arkham" into an entirely different mood and the frame rate is said to be "not good enough."
They also say that althought the graphics are good, it is not on par with the games that have been coming out recently. People who want to buy the game will most likely get it for the convenience of having them available to play on the PS4 or Xbox One. All in all, the "Arkham" games are still pretty solid, but the remaster does very little to make the game more interesting.
Some other users like Geek Tyrant, however, see nothing wrong with the game at all. They chuck it down to other users being overtly nitpicky without considering how good the "Arkham" series is.
Sure enough, before the "Arkham" games, Batman fans had little to no good games about the Dark Knight. The "Arkham" series is the first to carefully balance all of Batman's areas of expertise like fighting, detective work, and stealth.
Though some fans may complain about the graphics and frame rate, "Return to Arkham" could still give players a solid Batman experience because it includes all of the downloadable content and extras ever to come out for the game.
"Batman: Return to Arkham" is now available in stores.
