'Batman: The Telltale Series' release date news: 'City of Light' to come out Dec. 13

Telltale Games will release the final episode of "Batman: The Telltale Series" on Tuesday, Dec. 13, after dropping a performance patch early this month.

The fifth and final episode of the point-and-click graphic video game based on the DC Comics series will be called "City of Light." In the upcoming episode, the fate of the Wayne family will be threatened as the members of the Children of Arkham come up with a plan to destroy them.

Players are expected to weigh the options properly to make sure that the Wayne family will be safe from the hands of those who want to eradicate them. The decisions that they made while playing episode 4, titled "Guardian of Gotham," will also play an important role in the upcoming episode since their adventures will start exactly where they end in the previous episode.

Polygon has posted the synopsis for the upcoming episode, which reads: "In Episode 5, the leader of the Children of Arkham prepares to execute the final act of a plan to destroy the Wayne family name, and the people closest to you are in their path of vengeance. Can Batman's ultimate secret be kept — his very identity — when it is causing chaos and death in Gotham? The fate of the Wayne family and of the city itself rests on your choices. What will you do? How far will you go? Which mask will you wear?"

The finale of "Batman: The Telltale Series" will be available for PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation3 (PS3), Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Android and iOS.

The game studio also released the performance patch on Steam in Dec. 3, in which several performance improvements and settings were added to give the players more liberty to customize the game. As soon as the performance patch were installed, the game's recommended settings were automatically updated for their specific hardware configuration.

The performance patch also came with the "Batman: The Telltale Series" episode 1 titled "Realm of Shadows," which can be downloaded for free.
