It has been rumored that "The Ruins" star Jena Malone is set to fill the role of the female version of Robin (aka Carrie Kelly) in the upcoming film "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice."

According to Michigan TV station WILX-10, the information was revealed by a movie extra who is not bound by the $5 million confidentiality agreement signed by the people working in the film.

The anonymous source told the NBC affiliate show about the "high risk" details on Robin's character.

The rumors started early this month when Malone, who also starred in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, posted a picture of herself in Instagram with her hair dyed red. The photo is captioned: "Drastic times call for drastic measures."

A report from Business Insider also confirms Malone's role in the film, saying that the information came from the same informant who dished on WILX-10 News.

The production team is currently shooting at the Michigan State University campus. The scene involves a heated conversation between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor.

The shoot had heavy special effects with pyrotechnics and paparazzi coverage.

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill will play Batman and Superman, respectively. Jesse Einsenberg plays Lex Luthor; Gal Gaddot plays Wonderwoman; and Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne will join the cast as well.

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to hit theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
