New content is coming to "Battlefield 1" this December. Aside from a new custom game arriving this week, players will also gain access to free downloadable content later this month.

Line of Sight will provide players with a new way to experience the multiplayer mode. The new custom game is set on the Suez Canal map and players will get to choose between the two classes available: Medic and Scout. With the latter gaining double bullet damage, the former will have to work hard and utilize their arsenal to even out the playing field. Furthermore, land and air vehicles will not come into play in this custom game.

According to the official website, "the defending team will need to take advantage of the map to find strategic positions to hold their objectives, while attackers need to take out defending snipers while advancing to secure objectives."

Players can enjoy the new custom game while waiting for the arrival of the free DLC, Giant's Shadow. In this map, players will take part in the Battle of the Selle which took place in France in October 1918 during The Last Hundred Days of World War I. As the DLC's name suggests, the fight will take place in open country where a massive airship has crashed and thus casts a shadow onto the battlefield.

"Battlefield" fans can also look forward to the first major expansion titled "They Shall Not Pass" arriving in March 2017. Those who want to gain a two-week head start should purchase the "Battlefield 1" Premium Pass. For $50, players will not only gain early access to all future expansion packs, but they also get new weapons, skins and items, among others.

Hopefully, Electronic Arts continues to dish out post-launch content for "Battlefield 1" as chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen recently revealed that a follow-up installment isn't expected to arrive anytime soon.

"We won't have another Battlefield for a couple of years," the executive announced during the Nasdaq 35th Investor Program on Wednesday, as reported by GameSpot.

"Battlefield 1" is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC.
