The "Baywatch" reboot will debut in 2017, with Zac Efron playing the character that will save the Baywatch brand. Meanwhile, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson will be joining the cast of the reboot.

"Baywatch" is set to premiere in May 2017, and it will bring back the old characters to the beaches of Santa Monica, but there will be new actors playing them.

According to Digital Spy, Dwayne Johnson will be starring as Mitch Buchannon, who was famously portrayed by Hasselhoff in the TV series. Meanwhile, Matt Brody will be played by Zac Efron, who will try to save the Baywatch operations from being shut down.

"True Detective" and "Percy Jackson" star Alexandra Daddario will play Summer Quinn, while Ilfenesh Hadera will portray Stephanie Holden.

As seen from the movie trailer, Baywatch is on the verge of being closed down, and Efron's character will be recruited to make the save. Buchannon, as team leader, will have a hard time getting along with Brody as he finds him too reckless to take seriously. But according to the plot, "Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay."

Meanwhile, the villain who will cause problems in "Baywatch" is a woman named Victoria Leeds, to be played by "Quantico" Bollywood megastar, Priyanka Chopra.

Alums of the "Baywatch" TV series, Hasselhoff and Anderson, have been confirmed to appear in the reboot film.

Johnson posted a photo of him and Hasselhoff on his Instagram account, giving the actor praise on his influence in the movie and TV industry. He did the same for Anderson, welcoming her to the cast of the "Baywatch" reboot.

The roles of Hasselhoff and Anderson are yet to be revealed since Johnson will already portray as the lead, while CJ Parker will be portrayed by Kelly Rohrbach.

The film will be directed by "Horrible Bosses" and "The King of Kong" director Seth Gordon.

"Baywatch" premieres in May 2017.
