'Better Call Saul' season 3 release date, latest news: Third season of 'Breaking Bad' prequel to air on April 10

AMC recently announced the release date of the third season of the "Breaking Bad" spinoff TV series "Better Call Saul."

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the "Breaking Bad" prequel which centers on shady lawyer Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is scheduled to return for its third season on Monday, April 10, at 10 p.m. ET. The media outlet noted that season 3's premiere date is later than usual, as previous seasons of the show opened in February.

It was also recently confirmed that a major "Breaking Bad" character will be appearing in "Better Call Saul" season 3. In a report by Variety, it is revealed that actor Giancarlo Esposito, who played the role of meth supplier Gus Fring in "Breaking Bad," will also be in the prequel series. A teaser promo has also been released hinting on his inclusion in the show.

Esposito is expected to appear in the upcoming season's second episode. During AMC's panel at its Television Critics Association presentation, Esposito shared his excitement as an actor for his involvement in "Better Call Saul."

"We are at a time when he is a little more immature," Esposito said. "He's still finding his way. Gus is a very cagey character," the actor went on to say.

"Sometimes it's more exciting to have a character that's a little bit more mysterious. We're left wanting to know more," he added.

"Better Call Saul" was created by Vince Gilligan after the conclusion of "Breaking Bad" in 2013. The series tells the early legal career of Jimmy McGill, known as Saul Goodman for four seasons in the original AMC series which starred Bryan Cranston.

The spinoff prequel series also features Jonathan Banks, who reprises his "Breaking Bad" role as the tough guy Mike Ehrmantraut. The series' cast also includes actors Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, and Patrick Fabian.

To reiterate, "Better Call Saul" season 3 is set to premiere on Monday, April 10, at 10 p.m. ET.
