'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: AMC preps fans with Gus Fring's arrival with 'Breaking Bad' marathon
To help fans get by the long wait for "Better Call Saul" season 3, AMC treated them with a marathon of its parent series, "Breaking Bad."
As said before, there will be more references to the original series in the upcoming season of the spinoff. In fact, Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) is also expected to turn up at some point in the series.
His arrival in "Better Call Saul" season 3 was teased in the second season although the executive producers remain coy with regard to what way, shape or form Fring will show himself in.
Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan warn fans not to expect the drug kingpin and restaurateur in the flesh immediately in "Better Call Saul" season 3.
In staying true to the character, the duo made sure that like in "Breaking Bad," Fring rarely shows his face, and when he does, that someone went through hell and back for it.
Either way, when Fring arrives, big changes will come especially for Mike (Jonathan Banks), who goes on to work with him.
Apart from Fring, there are more "Breaking Bad" nods and appearances to expect in "Better Call Saul" season 3. This is what AMC teased on Twitter with a video compilation of the references to the original.
The possibility of the appearance Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) sister-in-law Marie (Betsy Brandt) and her husband Hank (Dean Norris) was teased a couple of months back.
"I don't think that's out of the question," Brandt told Huffington Post. "You know, it's definitely been discussed and I feel like that's something that we could see. I'll do anything those guys want," she went on to say.
"Better Call Saul" season 3 is currently in production and will premiere in spring on AMC. Many believe that it could premiere as early as next month.
