'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: Saul's life after 'Breaking Bad' to be glimpsed
The initial photos from "Better Call Saul" season 3 are in and it appears that the new season will give fans a glimpse of Jimmy's (Bob Odenkirk) life after "Breaking Bad."
One of the images shows Odenkirk in his Gene get-up. Gene is of course the name Jimmy went by the end of the original series, where he worked as a Cinnabon manager in Omaha.
As SlashFilm pointed out, Gene's life after "Breaking Bad" is not really the happiest one and it appears that fans will get a glimpse of it in "Better Call Saul" season 3.
The second image from the new season shows Chuck (Michael McKean) and Jimmy chatting. Surprisingly, they looked friendly considering how things ended in the previous season.
Chuck tricked Jimmy into confessing to fabricating the Mesa Verde documents. He even recorded the whole thing and now has leverage over his brother.
This will come into play in "Better Call Saul" season 3 although executive producers Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan play coy on what Chuck is planning to do with the recording. They did tease what's next for the brothers.
"I think it's safe to say that we are always looking for ways to deepen and intensify and complicate the current situation, dramatically speaking," Gilligan told IGN.
"So yes, you can expect to see that pay dividends. I don't know if people are gonna be happy with it, but you can expect to see that," he added.
Meanwhile, "Better Call Saul" season 3 will also see Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). There is no word just how he will take part in the new season.
"There's no doubt that Gus Fring is a fascinating character," Gould told Digital Spy. "He's the most brilliant character on Breaking Bad in his own way, although he has a terrible blindspot when it comes to Walter White," he added.
His arrival in "Better Call Saul" season 3 will also mark Mike's (Jonathan Banks) transformation into the drug kingpin's right-hand man.
"It seems tough to imagine that this Mike would ever become the man that we saw on Breaking Bad, so it'll be interesting to see what changes in Mike... and it would be fascinating to learn more about Gus Fring," he added.
"Better Call Saul" season 3 will premiere next year on AMC.
