Last week, "Black Mesa," the remake being worked on by Crowbar Collective, was released on Steam Early Access and priced at $20. The remake has the blessing of "Half-Life" developer Valve Software.

After the game was announced for Steam Early Access, the developer Crowbar Collective noted that the price for the version could go up but not too much.

"Black Mesa" has been available for free since 2012. If players want to try out the free version, it is still available on the game's official website.

"Black Mesa" has been described as an attempt to re-imagine the original "Half-Life." It has got the necessary approval from developer Valve Software. Valve had previously ported the game to its Source Engine and renamed it "Half-Life: Source."

However, it was met with criticism from gamers as its levels and textures along with other details remained as they were before.

"Black Mesa" is seen as an attempt to rectify this and attempts to rebuild "Half-Life" completely.

The game has been in development for years and has been hit by innumerable number of delays as its 40 volunteer development team members attempt to put the game together.

Now with the game coming to Steam Early Access, it seems the development team is drawing towards the end of the project. It stated recently that about 85 percent of the game was complete.

"Black Mesa" now includes 10 hours devoted to single-player campaigns. There are also "re-imagined" maps from the original game "Half-Life." They include Gasworks, Subtransit, Lambdabunker, Bounce, Stalkyard, and Undertow.

The game features an exclusive multiplayer mode along with deathmatch and team deathmatch, which have been added to the Early Access version on Steam.
