BlackBerry Passport vs BlackBerry Classic Review: Specs, Features Comparison - Big Differences
Although the BlackBerry Passport and the BlackBerry Classic are made by the same company, they have very different features.
Starting with their design, the BlackBerry Classic is very much like the BlackBerry Q10 but has premium materials. It also features a trackpad as part of its qwerty keyboard. On the other hand, the BlackBerry Passport has a full qwerty keyboard and premium stainless steel body. It measures 3.56 inches, which makes it much bigger than any other smartphone.
As for their displays, the BlackBerry Classic has a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels providing a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the BlackBerry Passport has a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 453 pixels per inch.
Comparing specs of the phones, the BlackBerry Classic features the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset along with a Dual-core Krait CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and an Adreno 225 GPU. The BlackBerry Passport has a Qualcomm MSM8974AA Snapdragon 801 chipset along with a Quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.26 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. Coming to the OS, the recently released BlackBerry Classic has the BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS while the BlackBerry Passport has the BlackBerry 10.3 OS.
As far as cameras go, the BlackBerry Classic has an 8 megapixel camera at its rear and a 2 megapixel one in front. The BlackBerry Passport has a 13 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 megapixel camera in front.
In terms of batteries, the BlackBerry Classic features a 2,515mAh version while the BlackBerry Passport has a much larger 3,450mAh battery.
Finally when it comes to price, the BlackBerry Passport is priced at $599 without a contract, while the BlackBerry Classic is priced at $449.
