'Blindspot' season 2 episode 10 spoilers: Patterson goes missing; new character linked to Nas to be introduced

Roman (Luke Mitchell) is on the loose, while Patterson (Ashley Johnson) is missing on the upcoming episode of NBC's mystery drama "Blindspot" season 2.

Titled "Nor I, Nigel, AKA Leg In Iron," season 2 episode 10 will see the team try to find a missing member. According to the official synopsis, Patterson is nowhere to be found, but it won't be their only problem. After being injected with the same memory-erasing drug used on Jane (Jaimie Alexander), Roman is now on the loose. Jane, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton), and the rest of the team must race Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) — and the clock — to find them before it's too late.

The network recently released a new promo clip for episode 9, and it hints that a character may die. Spanning seven seconds, the teaser doesn't give away anything significant, but it shows Patterson looking shocked and afraid at someone or something, based on her facial expression. The scene only shows her distressed face, so identifying where she is would be difficult for fans. Aside from the forensic specialist's face, the background voice in the promo teases that some characters will be in danger. "Who will survive?" the voice asks in the clip.

The back half of season 2 will explore not only the character's complications but also their backstories. Viewers will learn more about Nas, in particular, when the series returns, according to executive producer Martin Gero. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gero revealed that someone linked to the Zero Division head will soon enter the picture.

"We're introducing a new character who I don't want to the say the name of just yet," Gero told the publication's Spoiler Room segment, "but that will help illuminate some of Nas' background," he went on to say.

The second season of "Blindspot" returns on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
