Is the newest addition to the FBI's New York team friend or foe? And how long can Jane Doe aka Alice Kruger (Jaimie Alexander) fool her former organization?

The sophomore season of NBC's crime drama, "Blindspot" ushered in a host of new characters posing new challenges to Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his crew. On top of the list is Nas Kamal (Archie Panjabi) who may have good intentions, but could also get so focused on the task at hand that she may seem to put success above her team's safety.

This was the impression she gave Kurt in episode 3, first when she allowed Jane to go out in the field after just coming back from Sandstorm, and then again when she sniped out a bomber while Kurt was trying to negotiate with him.

A synopsis of episode 4 cited by CarterMatt seems to hint on more co-leadership conflicts between Nas and Kurt. Will they be able to look past their differences to successfully guide their team in the hunt for an assassin prowling a museum gala?

The assassin may also turn out to be the mole inside the department that was mentioned in this season's premiere episode. She may also turn out to be Jane's match as shown in the official episode preview.

The description also mentioned Jane finding out about Sandstorm's unexpectedly soft side. This comes at the heels of Roman (Luke Mitchell) presumably lying to Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) about Jane passing the loyalty test that was given to her. She failed, but her brother covered for her, though it also did come with a threat. Roman warned his sister to pull herself together and come back to the organization before he went after someone she held dear.

In an interview with ET Online, Mitchell said that he would not be surprised if a showdown between Roman and Kurt is in the cards. However, he didn't think that his character was specifically implying an actual threat on Kurt.

"I think he's just trying to wake her up and find her way back," Mitchell said.

Also, when asked about the mole in the agency, Mitchell claimed that he already knew who it was, and that it turned out to be something he did not expect at all.

Another loose thread featured in episode 3 was Edgar Reade (Rob Brown) and the case he had been trying to build against his former coach. Will he be willing to unlock the memory he had presumably repressed in order to put the man in jail?

"Blindspot" season 2 episode 4 titled "If Beth" airs on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC. Some episode stills have been made available on Seat42F.
