'Bloodborne' vs 'Dark Souls' Gameplay Comparison: Each Game Has Own Advantages and Flaws
"Bloodborne" has been earning raves from critics and players alike who are comparing it with "Dark Souls." Both games come from the same company – From Software. Here is how the two games compare:
Loading
First off in terms of presentation, "Bloodborne" runs on the latest console, the PS4, and it looks great. But the problem is that it takes too long to load and has uneven frame rate, which is not seen on "Dark Souls."
Difficulty
"Bloodborne" is as difficult as "Dark Souls," but some gamers are finding out that portions of the game are much more difficult than others. One particular portion that has been causing a lot of fans to fail is the one on the encounters with bosses, as some of them are designed to be very hard to beat, while others are not. Here, "Bloodborne" is less exciting compared to "Dark Souls" even though several players have since discovered that they can use the Insight function to increase the game's difficulty level by taking it over 15 while bringing it down to make the game easier to play.
Plot
Plot-wise, "Bloodborne" is a winner as it has a much better story than that of "Dark Souls".
Controls
Where "Bloodborne" is a true winner is in controls as it allows gamers to attack and dodge without any jerky movements which are often seen in playing "Dark Souls." This is a major benefit in the game and allows gamers to stay alive longer as they can accurately execute attacks even while they are on the move.
Mechanics
Mechanics in both games are pretty good and even though "Bloodborne" does have a massive advantage in its "Regain" system, it has other flaws such as its Blood vials not being replenished, which brings it on par with "Dark Souls."
Finally when it comes to build and level design, "Dark Souls" pulls ahead as it allows for bigger diversity and has more traps which make it more interesting to players.
