Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) might be a new couple, but it does not mean that their opinions will not clash in the next episode of "Blue Bloods" season 7.

In the episode titled "Genetics," the colleagues-turned-couple will become overly concerned with an intense custody battle between a child's adoptive and biological parents.

According to reports, a dramatic tug-of-war between two sets of parents will arise when the couple who was trying to adopt a child faces off with the biological parents. This will put Eddie and Jamie in the middle of the drama, and they will be involved in the custody battle more than they expected.

To help them deal with the drama and to prevent further conflicts between the two of them, Jamie and Eddie will turn to Erin (Bridget Moynahan) to settle the custody problem. She could also help the two opposing set of parents to avoid bringing the case to court.

Frank (Tom Selleck) will also look into the case of the NYPD cadets who were accused of cheating on their psychological exams. On the other hand, his eldest son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) will have his own problems when he found out that his own son Jack (Tony Terraciano) wants to join the Marines after his graduation.

The full synopsis for the episode that was posted by CarterMatt reads: "When Eddie and Jamie become overly involved in a complicated adoption case between the birth and adoptive parents, they ask Erin to help them settle the dispute without going to court. Also, Frank looks into reports of NYPD cadets cheating on their psychological exams, and Danny learns that Jack plans to enlist in the Marines after graduation."

The upcoming episode of "Blue Bloods" season 7 will be aired by CBS after the show's holiday hiatus on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
