Bobbi Kristina News Update: Boyfriend Nick Gordon Under Probe for 'Attempted Murder,' Claims Aunt Leolah
An aunt of Bobbi Kristina Brown has claimed that her boyfriend Nick Gordon is being investigated for "attempted murder" in connection with the incident that had the 22-year-old reality TV star nearly drowning to death.
Leolah, sister of singer Bobbi Brown, claimed that their family has strong evidence of foul play against Gordon, who reportedly found Bobbi Kristina unresponsive and lying face down on a bathtub in her Georgia home last January.
"Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobbi Kristina Brown... We have strong evidence of foul play," Leolah said in a lengthy open letter to Dr. Phil on her Facebook account, according to the Wrap.
In the same public post, Leolah also blasted TV therapist Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, the star of "Dr. Phil," for using his show to give Nick Gordon, the adopted son of Bobbi Kristina's mother and late Whitney Houston, a chance to air his side during the taping of the show set for airing on Wednesday.
"If Nick Gordon does not have the courage to speak with my brother Bobby Brown and/or law enforcement about what happened the day my niece's body was found in a bathtub, he does not deserve to have a platform to speak to anyone of your caliber until this investigation is concluded," Leolah told Dr. Phil.
In a short video clip for the upcoming episode of "The Dr. Phil Show," Gordon appeared with his mother, crying as he lamented missing Bobbi Kristina and Houston, who took him in when he was still a teenager, after confessing how much he hated his girlfriend's father, Bobby Brown.
Gordon, who tweeted that he gave Bobbi Kristina CPR after finding her in the tub, has complained via social media about not being allowed to see her since she was rushed to the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Bobbi Kristiana has been in a medically induced coma for several weeks now.
Dr. Phil asked Gordon on his sobriety. "You've been drinking a lot though, right? I want you to go straight to rehab," Dr. Phil said.
People magazine eventually reported that Gordon did indeed check into rehab after filming.
Last month, doctors tried to stop administering to Bobbi Kristina the drugs that were keeping her in a state of coma. But she reportedly began to suffer seizures, prompting her medical team to continue giving her the drugs to keep her in a state of coma.
Doctors also performed a tracheotomy on Bobbi Kristina to clear another path for her breathing tube.
Gordon has been banned from Bobbi Kristina's bedside, his attorneys said.
