'BoJack Horseman' season 4 air date, news & updates: New season drops summer 2017
The next season of "BoJack Horseman" will reportedly debut on Netflix in the summer of 2017.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the streaming service had given the green light to a fourth season for its popular adult animated comedy/drama series. "BoJack Horseman," which premiered in August 2014, tells the story of the title character, a washed-up former Hollywood star. The character is voiced by "30 Rock" alum Will Arnett.
While Netflix has yet to announce the official release date for "BoJack Horseman" season 4, various sources indicate that the series could return with a new season next summer, as previous seasons have.
Netflix reportedly agreed to extend the show's life because it had left a big impact on viewers with its exploration of various social issues and the human condition.
The BitBag says that while some previously predicted a late 2016 release for "BoJack Horseman" season 4, summer 2017 may be more accurate given that seasons 1, 2, and 3 debuted in either July or August.
As for the season 4 plotline, fans are clueless about what's in store and it has been suggested that the "BoJack Horseman" crew may still be busy working on the scripts.
News Everyday suggests that season 4 will find BoJack confessing about his alleged daughter. Fans have reportedly been theorizing that BoJack's daughter is the mysterious new horse that was introduced near the end of the third season.
In addition, there is also talk that Diane Nguyen, the ghostwriter voiced by Alison Brie, could be absent from season 4. Brie is set to star in "G.L.O.W." the new female wrestling series Netlfix picked up earlier this year. While the new show's 10-episode first season is currently without an official release date, it has been assumed that Brie could be too busy with her new series to appear in "BoJack Horseman."
Fortunately, the outlet suggests that Arnett and Amy Sedaris, who voices Princess Carolyn, will be reprising their roles in season 4.
Arnett recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the animated series, saying, "It has moments of punny word play, which I enjoy."
"But at the same time," he added, "we did a table read and a record for 'BoJack' today and it was a funny episode and there were a lot of things going on, and then at the end, in the 'BoJack' style, things happened that left a sort of a bittersweet taste in your mouth."
"BoJack Horseman" season 4 is expected to debut sometime in 2017 on Netflix.
