'Borderlands 3' release date news update: Gearbox to unveil game at E3 2016? What to expect from upcoming 'Borderlands' installment?

Although there is the possibility for game development company Gearbox to announce the highly-anticipated third installment of the "Borderlands" video game series at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on June 14 to 16, it is not expected to offer much more than a teaser about the game. Meanwhile, fans seem to already know what they want to see in the next "Borderlands" game.

IGN wrote that Gearbox may realistically not have anything too substantial about "Borderlands 3" this year during the E3 given the fact that the company has just released "Battleborn." It can be assumed that the company must have just allotted and focused their time and energies on the recently launched game. In addition, IGN notes that it will be "odd" for Gearbox to "steal" the thunder of "Battleborn" at the event.

Meanwhile, Nuerogadget wrote an enumeration of what it wishes to see in "Borderlands 3." It hopes for a strong roster of remarkable characters that encompasses all heroes, villains and other supporting characters. Going alongside these characters is humor which will be welcomed regardless of it being subtle or sometimes over-the-top.

While the rest of the games in the "Borderlands" series are set in the planet Pandora, a new setting for the next installment will be an exciting development.

"Borderlands 3" is also expected to offer a more solid gameplay which means that the shooting capacities of players should be precise; the role-playing game (RPG) features should be sensible; and the quest system should be enjoyable. The game is expected to be more creative and do away with repetitive missions.

Randy Pitchford of Gearbox has publicly acknowledged the development of "Borderlands 3" twice. The first time was at the PAX South 2015 and the other was during this year's PAX East. The third "Borderlands" installment is loosely referred to as "Borderlands 3" for now, although this might not be the official title of the game once it finally comes out.
