The "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remaster will be more than just updated graphics. The maps that were released for the game will be getting some major overhauls as well.

All 16 of the original multiplayer maps from the original game will get fully remastered versions, as Activision chief executive officer Eric Hirshberg announced during the "Call of Duty" XP event.

Fans were also treated to an exclusive look at two of those maps—Overgrown and Crash—in a clip below.

Right off the bat, fans will definitely feel the nostalgia in watching, but will also get a sense of the modern touch of these maps, making for a stellar "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remaster experience.

As Den of Geek points out, much of the technicalities were improved such as the lighting effects and weather so they keep up with the times, but Activision kept the vibe and the overall look of the maps at the same time.

Kotaku concurs, saying that the weapons in the remastered versions play as they were in the original game released almost a decade ago and the maps look the same as before, albeit improved in visual quality.

However, it is important to note that the "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remaster will initially be released with only 10 of these multiplayer maps. Fans will have to wait for the other six in December.

There is no word yet on which maps are released with the remaster and which ones fans will have to stick around for. Nevertheless, the wait won't be long especially when fans spend their time on the game.

A PlayStation 4 beta for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" remaster will be held on Oct. 14, but only those who pre-ordered the latest in the series—"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare"—will get to participate.

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remastered will be released Nov. 4.
