'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' release date update: Gameplay footage expected at E3?

The new addition to the "Call of Duty" franchise is expected to come out this year. Titled as "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," the upcoming game is said to be better than the previous installments. According to the latest reports, game publisher Activision is said to make the new title the highlight of its participation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, which is scheduled to kick off on June 14.

The E3 event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention center. Activision will allegedly release a preview video of the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" during the event. Game observers predict the company to go big on their "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" promotion as there is no other venue to do it but at E3. The trailer footage is said to include a campaign video of the game as well as some gameplay highlights. It will be shown during the press conference of Sony, which will be formed by the members of both Activision and Sony.

The official Twitter account of the franchise has also posted a hint of what fans can expect during E3.

"Can't wait for gameplay footage? Get ready for an in-depth look at the #InfiniteWarfare campaign at E3 on June 13."

However, the exact time of when the footage will be shown has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.

During an interview with AusGamers, design director Jacob Minkoff and narrative director Taylor Kurosaki revealed some details about the game.

"We wanted to tell a completely new story with Infinite Warfare," Kurosaki said. "Our story is original and a brand new entry in the 'Call of Duty' series. There is no connection to any previous 'Call of Duty' games, so a new setting obviously and new cast of characters."

"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is expected to come out this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
