Activision has recently released a new update for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" which includes new items, maps, and gameplay improvements.

According to reports, the game's multiplayer mode grows bigger after Activision launched a new update that adds six more maps: Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work. The remastered version was launched last month with 10 maps, bringing the game's total number of maps up to 16. The latest DLC also introduces a Winter Crash map that is scheduled to have its own 24/7 playlist on Dec. 20. The said map was exclusive to PC in the original game, so this is the first time that it is made accessible for consoles.

Through the Operation Arctic Wolf loot drop, new items for personalization are now made available. It comes with calling cards, reticles, weapon camos, emblems, and uniforms, among others. Aside from gathering through supply drops, players can craft personalization items by using the crafting currency called Parts. Activision announced that every item can be organically unlocked. Added to the roster with this expansion pack are new characters, including female fighters. Something also worth noting is that this is the first time that female characters have been made playable in Modern Warfare.

Gun Game and Hardpoint are the new game modes that have been added to playlists. In addition, two Christmas-themed weapon camos called Ugly Sweater and Gift Wrap can now be used. These items can be unlocked by finishing up some challenges in the Winter Crash map.

"'Tis the Season for more incredible Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered content! On 13t December, six additional MP maps are coming to all Modern Warfare Remastered players free of charge, plus the Christmas themed Winter Crash map and two new game modes: Gun Game and Hardpoint," Activision's latest statement reads. "One of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time just got even better," it went on to say.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" is only available to those who purchase special editions of the original game, which start at $80, but they are usually discounted.
