'Call of Duty' release date, features & gameplay rumors: Campaign spans the solar system
Infinity Ward and Activision recently launched their first-person shooter video game titled "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." Gamers will enjoy the campaign which takes the battle out to the entire solar system.
In the latest title, gamers will follow a story starting with a surprise attack initiated by the terrorist group which has colonized the solar system, Settlement Defense Front (SDF). The rebellious group launched an attack against Earth and the United Nations Space Alliance (UNSA).
In the game, players will portray UNSA pilot Reyes who will eventually be promoted to captain of a starship. According to IGN, the character has been endowed with Tom Cruise-like features and he will be tasked to defeat the SDF and protect the entire solar system.
Activision recently sent gamers a few guidelines for their latest title. "During the campaign, you will have the chance to take part in optional side missions that will allow you to earn upgrades to enhance combat," the video game publishers wrote.
The upgrades that players can get by doing side missions can either be Suit Upgrades or Jackal Upgrades. According to Activision, Suit Upgrades will allow gamers to improve their weapon swap and reload rate. Furthermore, it will lessen flinches and make health regeneration faster. Jackal Upgrades, on the other hand, will "enhance the multi-role Jackal fighter jet with new weapons, better thrusters, stronger armor, and even decorate your ride with new nose art."
A review from Venture Beat praised Infinity Ward's characters and storyline. The news outlet also noted that aside from the writing, the facial animation of the characters is spot on. Furthermore, the publication reported that the overall graphics of the game is first rate.
"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is currently available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Stay tuned for more tips, tricks and updates.
