Carrie Fisher medical condition news: 'Star Wars' actress in stable condition, says mother Debbie Reynolds

Carrie Fisher is now in stable condition after her medical emergency a few days ago.

The actress's mother, Debbie Reynolds, shared the update about Fisher's condition through Twitter on Dec. 25, Christmas Day. Even if Fisher had to spend the holiday weekend in a hospital, her condition is confirmed to be stable.

"Carrie is in stable condition. If there is a change,we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes," Debbie Reynolds mentioned on her tweet last Sunday.

According to Vulture, Fisher was hospitalized on Thursday when she suffered a heart attack on a transatlantic flight from England to Los Angeles. It was also reported that a medic traveling on the plane had to administer CPR. Paramedics had to spend another 15 minutes administering more CPR before they felt Fisher's pulse return.

Reynolds, 84, has reportedly been staying at her daughter's side shortly after the news broke. The 60-year-old actress is Reynold's daughter with Eddie Fisher, to whom Reynolds was married to back in the 1950s.

Fisher was also visited by other family members such as her brother Todd, her half-sister Joely, her daughter Billie Lourd, and her pet dog Gary.

Fisher is better known for playing Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" film franchise. She recently appeared in "Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens," the seventh and latest installment in the film franchise, last year. She also appeared in other films such as "The Blues Brothers" and "When Harry Met Sally."

Aside from her acting career, Fisher is also a writer of four novels and three memoirs. Aside from her current book "The Princess Diarist," she is also known for books such as "Postcards from the Edge" and "Wishful Drinking."

Many of her fans and fellow actors including co-stars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in "Star Wars" have expressed hope for Fisher's quick recovery from her current medical condition.
