Chicago Bulls trade rumors 2016: Okafor big target for the Bulls
The unending link between the Philadelphia 76ers big men and trades to other teams continues as Jahlil Okafor and the Chicago Bulls are reportedly working on a deal that could send the big man to Illinois.
It is no secret that the Sixers are trying to offload one of the three big prospects they have as it has created a logjam at the center position.
Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, and Okafor are all capable big men who are poised to lead a team to new heights.
Unfortunately, they are all in the Sixers line-up and are not being used to their full potentials, so the best thing for these players is to find new franchises to play for.
According to reports, the Bulls are now one of the favorites to sign the former Duke star in their bid to strengthen the squad.
At the moment, the Bulls are a pretty decent team, but they are guard-heavy as Jimmy Butler must play alongside Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo who are new signings to the team.
Furthermore, the Bulls recently lost Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol as they are now playing with the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, respectively, which leaves the Bulls with a big need to fill in the big man spots.
Okafor should be a good signing for the team as he is young and hungry to get success after failing with Philadelphia.
In his first season in the league, Okafor had great numbers as he averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per night while playing 30 minutes per game.
He appeared in 53 games for the Sixers and started 48 of those. If he goes to the Bulls, he will have a bigger role and will likely be the main big man for the franchise.
However, Sports Rageous is quick to point out that if the trade was to happen, the Bulls are going to lose a lot of players like Doug McDermott, Bobby Portis, and rookie Denzel Valentine for the deal. This makes for a tricky situation that the Bulls must consider.
