The conflict between two officers takes a turn for the worse when Firehouse 51 members are split up and reassigned to different areas on the upcoming episode of NBC's "Chicago Fire" season 5.

Titled "Purgatory," this week's episode will see how the members of Firehouse 51 adjust to their new assignments. According to the official synopsis, Chief Anderson (guest star Michael Hanrahan) reassigns members of 51 to various firehouses around town after exercising his authority over Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker). He cites the need for improvement as the reason for his decision, but it's certainly a result of the tension between him and Boden.

The crew is left dealing with the ramifications as they try to make the best of their respective situations. Elsewhere in the episode, Severide (Taylor Kinney) must come up with an important decision.

NBC released a new promo clip for episode 14, and it shows Boden being confronted by the firefighters because of the major change in house 51. "This is insane," Severide says while in a meeting with the rest of the crew. "Do something chief," Mouch tells Boden, who appears to be frustrated about Anderson's decision. "Will they break the law to reunite?" the background voice asks. The teaser ends with Boden telling the crew to do what they have to do.

Aside from the drama in 51, Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) will have to deal with yet another problem in their married life. Entertainment Weekly reports that an upcoming episode will explore the return of Dawson's dad, who was last seen announcing his divorce during a family gathering. Dawson will be inviting him to live with her and Casey until he gets his life back on track, which will lead to issues between the newlyweds.

The fifth season of "Chicago Fire" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
