'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 11 spoilers: Dr. Rhodes deals with unusual patient; Dr. Latham receives important news
It's a difficult shift for two doctors on the upcoming episode of NBC's hit medical drama "Chicago Med" season 2.
Titled "Graveyard Shift," tonight's episode will see Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) and Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) work together to operate on a mystery patient. According to the official synopsis, it's a long night on the graveyard shift at the hospital, particularly for Dr. Reese who is forced to deal with pronouncing patients dead on more than one occasion.
Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) asks Dr. Rhodes to meet with one unusual patient, while Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) passes along some important news to Dr. Latham (guest star Ato Essandoh). Despite Tate's (guest star Deron J. Powell) advice to slow down, April (Yaya DaCosta) goes back to Chicago Med after getting called into work.
NBC recently released a promo clip for the episode, and it shows the doctors working on a risky procedure. The teaser opens with Goodwin having a serious conversation with Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) about their unusual patient. "If there's a bad outcome, does this become an international incident?" Goodwin asks Dr. Choi. The physician clarifies that he will treat the patient just like anybody else, but Goodwin stresses that the patient is clearly not an ordinary individual.
"A risky procedure with global implications. One mistake could be a diplomatic crisis," the background voice says. The next scene cuts to Goodwin introducing a person from the Chinese embassy to the doctors. "We should do whatever we can to keep her alive," Dr. Choi tells the Chicago Med team at the end of the clip.
Based on the promo, it looks like the episode will be exploring an emergency surgery done on a VIP. The patient's illness wasn't revealed in the teaser, but the video made it clear that she isn't physically deformed or mentally compromised.
The second season of "Chicago Med" airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
