'Clash of Clans' news and updates: Huge September update to overhaul gameplay

Does "Clash of Clans" have what it takes to beat "Pokemon Go"/ | CLASH OF CLANS Official Website

"Clash of Clans" is arguably the king of mobile games before the Niantic's augmented reality game "Pokemon Go" nabbed the title from Supercell's creative property. Despite reports of gradual decline based on the number of daily active users, the free-to-play location-based mobile game is still riding high on its popularity with users reportedly outnumbering Twitter's 65-million user base. To prevent sliding down to irrelevance, the Helsinki-based developer is now acting to reverse its declining fortunes in a planned huge update this September.

The mobile gaming sector still has a huge room for expansion. But the competition has gone tighter as more and more gaming firms are putting money to tap into the smartphone sector's huge market potential for mobile games. If ongoing speculations prove right, Supercell's upcoming patch will probably become a game changer with a slew of enhancements and features that may overhaul the game entirely, Ecumenical News reported.

"Clash of Clans" gamers already had a summer update this August. However, the patch only brought minimal improvements leaving many issues unresolved. Current rumors claim that the software upgrade next month will arrive with sweeping changes at Town Hall 1 to Town Hall 11. Moreover, fans may expect additional playable characters plus new levels for structures and troops. Another widely anticipated feature is the Gem Mine which allows players to level up faster by mining free gems.

Apart from the abovementioned changes, Supercell also confirmed to bring balancing changes through fixes and tweaks in the character stats, penalty features to prevent unscrupulous use of resources, and increase mortars damage during battles, Movie News Guide reported.

To involve the "Clash of Clans" community in its efforts to innovate the game, Supercell is reportedly collecting feedbacks, comments, and suggestions from fans. Players are hopeful to see more spells enhancement in the upcoming update aside from demanding a better and more equitable clan wars setup. It remains to be seen whether any of this changes will be part of Supercell's media-hyped September update.
