The Cleveland Browns have a big problem in their hands because they have no reliable quarterback with the new season barely a week in.

Robert Griffin III was injured during their opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles and had a shoulder fracture that resulted in his placement in the injured reserve.

At the moment, the Browns have Josh McCown as their quarterback but many do not give him a chance to lift the franchise this year. As a result, reports are circulating that the Browns may be looking at Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers as a possible solution for their quarterback problems.

According to the report, this may be appealing to the Browns, given that Hue Jackson is a longtime fan of Kaepernick's capabilities. And at this point, the Browns may be willing to try anything.

Kaepernick's movement and ability to make a big pass is certainly a welcome addition to the Browns and as he is second fiddle in the Niners' lineup at the moment, the move to get Kaepernick could be a good idea.

Other reports believe that Kaepenrick has wasted talent because he is used behind Blaine Gabbert in the Niners. Despite the fact that Kaepernick is an expensive option, it may be one that the Browns must be willing to take.

Unfortunately, having Kaepernick on board may not give the immediate fix that the Browns need. Kaepernick is coming off some injuries during the offseason and is not ready to play a full season just yet.

Furthermore, it will be difficult to immediately put Kaepernick behind the line as the way he plays may not be aligned with how the Browns operate as well. It will definitely take some time for team chemistry.

It remains to be seen how things will work out but for the Browns, if they need a quarterback, they have one who is currently sitting the bench in Santa Clara.
