NEON has recently revealed the official trailer for their upcoming monster film "Colossal," which stars Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway.

In the film, Hathaway plays Gloria, an out-of-work girl who gets kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend and is forced to abandon her life in New York to transfer back to her hometown. When news have surfaced that a giant monster is wreaking havoc in Seoul, South Korea, Gloria realizes that she has a special connection with the menacing creature.

With the situation spinning out of control, Gloria must figure out why her seemingly insignificant existence brought about colossal and catastrophic effects on such a global scale.

Aside from Hathaway, actor Jason Sudeikis, who is known for his performances in comedy films such as "Horrible Bosses" and "We're the Millers," will also play a supporting role in the upcoming monster movie. Also included in the cast are actors Dan Stevens ("Legion"), Austin Stowell ("Bridges of Spies"), and Tim Blake Nelson ("Fantastic Four").

According to Coming Soon, the tone of "Colossal" is like a fusion between films such as "Godzilla" and "Lost in Translation." The film is directed by filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, who is known for his works in the acclaimed sci-fi thriller "Timecrimes" as wells as "Open Windows." Vigalondo also wrote the film's script.

The film already had its premiere at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, at which Screen Crush Editor-in-Chief Matt Singer rated the movie "5 out of 10 stars." In his review, Singer said: "Colossal works far better as subtext than text. As an expression of an abstract concept about depression and substance abuse, the monster that emerges from a woman's troubled id holds together. As a function of a monster-movie plot, it doesn't make much sense, particularly after rules emerge about the creature's behavior."

"Colossal" is scheduled to have a wide theatrical release in the United States on April 7.
