'Crash Bandicoot' remaster: 'Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy' unveiled; here's what the gameplay looks like
It was during the PlayStation Experience 2016 when "Crash Bandicoot" was promoted with a high-definition revamp for PlayStation 4 (PS4). Held in Anaheim, California, the fans of the hit video game were able to witness their favorite character back in action.
The "Crash Bandicoot" remaster is titled "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy," which according to Inquirer is taken from the original title up to "Crash Bandicoot: Warped." Aside from the high-definition (HD) output, the remake also includes new features.
The game apparently has undergone several challenges before it was launched publicly. In an interview with Digital Spy, Vicarious Visions producer Kara Massie revealed how "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" was developed.
"The overarching one is how you take a 20-year-old game and make it totally relevant in 2017. That's something we're still in development with, we're still figuring out, there are a lot of questions to answer there. Specifically one that I think it behind us is Crash Bandicoot himself," she said.
She further added that the character has to get his moves right, with all his signature moves being expanded smoothly. This is achieved by putting it through a lot of testing and revamping to get Crash Bandicoot to fit in the modern setting.
Massie said that the development is already at 98 percent completion at this time of writing.
"Even as we go further into development and his new moves come in and stuff then we have to go back again, so that's a really big challenge. We have to nail this," she disclosed.
The release date of "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" remains to be a mystery for now, but the developers stated that they will share more details as soon as they become available. In the meantime, watch the video below.
Before the remaster is announced, Crash Bandicoot appeared in the "Skylanders" game, in which players were able to control the classic character.
