'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 3 episode 10 spoilers, news: Rebecca attends a family Bar Mitzvah; series scores early renewal from The CW
Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) learns something new about her search for happiness on the upcoming episode of The CW's musical dramedy "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2.
Titled "Will Scarsdale Like Josh's Shayna Punim?" this week's episode will see Rebecca have a major realization. According to the official synopsis, Rebecca attends a family Bar Mitzvah where she crosses paths with her Rabbi (guest star Patti LuPone). After the gathering, Rebecca realizes that she still has a long way to go on her search for true happiness.
Just as the viewers thought that season 2 would mark the show's end, The CW gave "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" an early renewal order. The comedic musical has been on the air for two seasons now, but some think that it doesn't have much appeal to the general audience. With its limited loyal fanbase, many were surprised about the program's early pickup.
Despite the not-so-good ratings, the network decided to give the series another chance to redeem itself by greenlighting a third season set to air later this year. The CW president Mark Pedowitz personally announced the shows that were renewed and he explained why "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" was part of the lineup.
"Critically acclaimed, great programming, sometimes you just leave it on the air and hopefully it finds an audience. I am hoping that happens. If it doesn't, I will have no regrets of having continued the series," Pedowitz said.
The head honcho went on to reveal during this year's TCA that their decision was influenced by how "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and the rest of The CW's original programs helped shape the network's image. "It has everything to do with how Crazy Ex, Jane the Virgin and the DC franchises have helped alter the perception of what The CW has become," he added.
The second season of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
