'Criminal Minds' season 12 episode 10 spoilers, cast news: BAU investigates series of home invasions; 'Lost' actor lands major recurring role
The BAU looks into a series of home invasions on the upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12.
Titled "Seek and Destroy," next week's episode will see the team work on a case related to home invasions on upscale neighborhoods in San Diego, according to the official synopsis. However, things take a different turn when the invasions begin to involve casualties.
In the promo released by CBS, it turns out that the group of suspects are teenage girls. "They're young and innocent-looking," Emily (Paget Brewster) describes the trespassers. The teaser shows one of the suspects pointing a gun at the terrified homeowners, saying "Mom, dad, I'm home."
Following the high-profile exits of series regulars Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson, "Criminal Minds" continues to add more new faces to its ensemble. "Lost" alum Harold Perrineau has joined the series for a major recurring role. The actor is set to portray Calvin Shaw, an ex-FBI agent who was incarcerated after killing one of his informants. Shaw crosses paths with a BAU agent, and the team must figure out if he is a friend or a possible enemy.
Perrineau joins new series regulars Adam Rodriguez and Damon Gupton, who were both introduced this season. Speaking with TV Guide, Gupton revealed that he's looking forward to being a breath of fresh air to the CBS drama.
"It's more exciting to step into the world and see how I fit into the world and if I can bring something," he said. "The people who have come and gone have been such wonderful performers and flavors on the show. It's quite an honor to ask to bring something new to the table. You never want to disappoint fans... I'm just excited to bring something new," the actor went on to say.
The 12th season of "Criminal Minds" airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
