Next week's episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12, "Elliot's Pond," is giving the Halloween vibe but with a stroke of madness, making for an hour of suspense and mystery.

Prentiss (Paget Brewster) and the team will investigate the disappearance of three children who vanish as they rode their bikes through the same path where the same case of disappearance, albeit unsolved, took place 30 years ago.

The promo for "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 6 teases that it has something to do with someone who is mentally unstable as it tells the story of how a mental institution destroyed by fire led to the "inmates running the asylum."

In the clip, a woman was searching for someone, only to find a body lying on the ground. Whether lifeless or just unconscious remains to be seen, but either way, the victim appeared to be in trouble.

From the looks of it, the perpetrator of the case that the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) has on their hands in "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 6 might be the same person responsible for the three-decade-old disappearance as well.

Either way, it is being implied that these cases are connected and this very connection will be something that the BAU will turn to in order for them to save the children and find the person behind the crime.

The fact that the case from 30 years ago remains unsolved suggests that this case will be tough to crack, but with the perpetrator back at it again, the decades-old case might be put to a close as well.

Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 6 will also likely be the episode where there will be no more mention of Hotch (Thomas Gibson).

The character was written off by the show by putting him in a case far away from home that will involve special care and attention. This means that from here on out, Prentiss will be leading the charge.

"Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 6, "Elliot's Pond" will air Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
