Dallas Mavericks trade rumors 2016: Team acquires free agent forward Quincy Acy
Looking to add more role players in their line-up to help them improve, the Dallas Mavericks went to a young journeyman to buff up the team.
According to their official website, the Mavericks signed free agent forward Quincy Acy to a new deal.
At the moment, details of the deal are still unknown, but with the reveal made through their official site, expect Acy to be part of the team for the coming campaign.
Arriving in the league on 2012, Acy was picked in the second round by the Toronto Raptors.
He spent a little more than one season with the Raptors, averaging 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 36 games for the Canadian franchise.
Acy was then sent over to the Sacramento Kings where he spent the rest of the season, playing 56 games in his first stint with the team and averaging 2.7 points in 14 minutes per night.
From there he was again moved back to the Eastern Conference to the New York Knicks where he had his most success, as he played 68 games with the Knicks and started 22 times (for the first time in his professional career), averaging a career high 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Last year, he was sent back to the Kings where he played the power forward position and still maintained the 5.2 points per game despite dropping to only 14 minutes per game from 18 back in the Knicks.
Acy is a scrappy player who is not afraid to bang underneath. He may be undersized in the power forward position at 6-foot-7 and 240 pounds, but he certainly makes up with effort when given the chance to play.
He is still very young at 25 years old and will give quality minutes on the floor when the Mavericks decide to rest Dirk Nowitzki.
