'Dance Moms' season 6 news, spoilers: Abby Lee Miller is 'scared to death' of going to jail
Earlier this year, owner of the Abby Lee Dance Company Abby Lee Miller, pleaded guilty to charges of bankruptcy fraud. Miller said that she is "scared to death" of going to prison and that she finds the whole situation "humiliating and embarrassing."
The head choreographer on Lifetime's reality show "Dance Moms" was allegedly caught attempting to conceal $775,000 of her income from the show. Miller, 49, was also accused of failure to report the thousands of Australian dollars she brought to the United States in 2014. Last June, Miller pleaded guilty to one count of structuring international monetary transactions. The TV personality could reportedly face up to 30 months in prison for the bankruptcy fraud charges, but because her creditors did not incur any losses, a report noted that her sentence could range from probation to half a year in prison.
The "Dance Moms" star recently opened up about her bankruptcy fraud case during an interview on the "Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss" podcast.
"It's a fact of life, I made mistakes," Miller said to the hosts. "I thought I was doing the right thing, I thought I had guidance. I thought I was on the up and up, and I wasn't," she added.
"If I can be an example from other people, you really have to learn," she said. "I'm not going to deny anything, they were my mistakes. I am taking full responsibility for them, I have to," Miller continued.
According to Deadline, Miller's sentencing was recently granted another delay with the court date being pushed back to Dec. 2 from the original date on Oct. 11. This is due to the amount of information about the case that still needs to be processed. The "Dance Moms" star faces 20 counts of fraud along with a new charge for the currency reporting violation.
"Dance Moms" season 6 airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
