'Dance Moms' season 7 episode 7 spoilers: racially fueled group dance causes tension
Fans of "Dance Moms" know that Abby Lee Miller likes to push the envelope. In this week's episode, she's putting the pressure on her junior elite team once again by asking them to perform a controversial race-fueled dance number inspired by the hit movie, "The Help."
"Dance Moms" season 7 episode 7's synopsis reads, "Abby and the ALDC try to break the long standing losing streak in Fresno, CA. Holly's nerves are frayed when Abby announces the theme for a controversial and racially-charged group dance. Meanwhile, Elliana and Maesi's duet brings out the worst in Yolanda and Jamie's already toxic relationship."
The episode is titled "The Fresno Curse," and as shown on the preview trailer, Nia Sioux, Daviana Fletcher and Camryn Bridges will be playing servants in the number, and Nia's mom, Holly Frazier, thinks they are taking on a "very sensitive subject." Well, Abby appears to shrug off the comment and she told Nia, "If the routine doesn't win, that pressure's on your shoulders."
Nia is on a roll right now. Abby pitted her against Camryn for the solo in the previous episode and she took it and won. She must be pretty confident right now and it looks like they might have won. The "Dance Moms" fan page has posted the result on their site showing "Good Help is Hard to Find" at first place in the Teen Group category. It also has the overall high score.
Brynn Rumfallo's duet with Camryn, "Snap That," got first in the teen duet division, beating Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker's "Tango Para Tres." Meanwhile, Elliana Walmsley and Maesi Caes' number, "The Invaders," won second place in the junior duet category.
Reports say Elliana's mom, Yolanda, and Maesi's mom, Jamie, are going to have a little fight after their daughters' duet.
"Dance Moms" season 7 episode 7 will air on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
