'Dance Moms' season 7 renewal, cast: Show facing cancellation after JoJo Siwa exit?
Although "Dance Moms" season 7 is already in production, there are still rumors about Lifetime pulling the plug on the show.
It is becoming more and more likely that JoJo Siwa will be leaving the show especially in the latest episode "Dance Moms" season 6 titled "JoJo is A No-Show," where Siwa ditched a performance.
Siwa said that this episode will provide answers as to why she is nowhere to be seen during the ongoing filming of "Dance Moms" season 7.
According to reports, the incident after "JoJo is A No-Show" led Siwa and her mother to leave the show altogether. Even the upcoming season 6 episodes won't feature the mother and daughter.
Siwa is one of the fan favorites of the show. She has been there since the beginning of the series as she is one of the original dancers along with Maddie Ziegler, who left the show in the midst of season 6.
She is the fourth original dancer to leave "Dance Moms." First was Chloe Lukasiak (who left back in season 4 and has been unstoppable ever since), followed by the Ziegler sisters.
Losing Siwa would mean a decrease in ratings as she has quite the following that tunes in to the show. However, with many more of the original dancers still in "Dance Moms" season 7, the reality series might survive.
Sadly, dance coach Abby Lee Miller's legal problems might also lead to the eventual cancellation of the series. She is facing jail time of at least six months due to her fraud charges.
Unless "Dance Moms" will go on without her, Lifetime might find it best to axe it with Miller potentially held up by her court issues.
However, at the moment, the show is a safe spot with the seventh episode set to be filmed this week.
"Dance Moms" season 7 is slated for a 2017 premiere on Lifetime.
