'Dance Moms' season 7 news update: Sans Zeigler and Lukasiak, remaining dancers now have opportunity to shine

With the two Abby Lee Miller favorites on "Dance Moms" now departed from the show that helped them build their careers, it is time to spot a new rising star among the dancers who still remain at the Abby Lee Dance Company. With season 7 in the horizon, the show must go on, so to speak.

Maddie Zeigler, undeniably one of "Dance Moms'" biggest stars and a product of ALDC, along with her sister Mackenzie, left the show in the previous season. Zeigler is now very busy carving out a career for herself in the wider world of film. She is also slated to be one of the judges in this year's season of "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation." She is set to debut on the big screen with the film "The Book of Henry," which will also come out this year. These, along with other projects vying for Zeigler's attention, have dashed fans' hopes for a Zeigler cameo in the next season of "Dance Moms."

There had been some talk upon Zeigler's departure that another alum, another shining star from "Dance Moms," would be coming back to fill the spot Zeigler has left empty. Chloe Lukasiak had been rumored to rejoin the show for season 7 after she left it back in season 4. Fans even thought that the young dancer herself had been referring to her possible return when she consistently went on social media to advertise her "big project." The big project turned out to be her very own web series dance tutorial.

Lukasiak now stars in her own reality web series, "Dance Classes with Chloe." It consists of web-based dance tutorials offered on a subscription basis. It will feature behind-the-scenes snapshots of her life including some tips for budding dancers. The first offerings include her core workout guide, among other things.

In a sneak preview of the tutorials, Lukasiak said, "They should keep you dancing and learning." She added, "I'll be taking you guys kind of behind the scenes into my real life. Just my every day acting, dancing, family and friends, stuff like that, things you guys like. I really hope that you enjoy it!"

This rising young star's first foray into the film business, "Center Stage: On Pointe," will premiere this year. She has also been cast in "Cowgirl's Story" along with Bailee Madison. Things seem to be looking up too for this "Dance Moms" alum.

It is believed that the attempt to bring Lukasiak back had been a reflection of the producers' concern at the outcome of the Zeigler sisters' departure. But with both Zeigler and Lukasiak busy with promising careers and the show trying to keep the ratings from dipping low next season, "Dance Moms" would do well to persist in their motto of inspiring talent from the ranks of good dancers, including Nia Frasier-Sioux, JoJo Siwa and Kendall Vertes, or developing new ones.

That, or think up a new scheme to spark the interest of the show's viewers.
