'Dancing with the Stars' season 23 cast & contestants news 2016: Ryan Lochte, Maureen McCormick & Babyface join cast; Siblings Derek, Julianne Hough confirmed to return
Three more celebrities will be joining ABC's hit dancing competition "Dancing with the Stars" for its upcoming 23rd season.
According to a source from Entertainment Tonight, among the three celebrity competitors this coming season are "Brady Bunch" actress Maureen McCormick, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, and music producer/singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. Other personalities previously confirmed to join ABC's long-running dance show include "Little Women" star Terra Jole, model Amber Rose, "Wizards of Waverly Place" actor Jake T. Austin, and "General Hospital" actress Emma Samms.
Meanwhile, siblings Julianne and Derek Hough will also be making their comeback this season. Julianne first appeared in the show as a professional dancer on seasons 4 through 8, and later became a judge on seasons 19 through 21. After having a break from the show due to other commitments, the 28-year-old will be back on the judges' table for season 23. Her brother, Derek, served as a professional dancer for 16 seasons. He recently won his sixth Mirror Ball trophy back in season 21 when he paired up with Bindi Irwin. The brother-sister pair will be joined by pro brothers Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The season 23 pro dancers roster also includes Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Allison Holker and Gleb Savchenko.
Rio Olympics gold medalist Simone Biles was rumored to be the exec's top pick for the athlete competitor category but her busy schedule might get in the way. "I would love to do "Dancing with the Stars," but so far we have a three-month tour after this Olympics," Biles exclusively told E! News. "I'm not sure if I'll have time."
The full cast lineup will be announced on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, Aug. 30. "Dancing with the Stars" season 23 officially premieres on Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
